It definitely feels more psychological thriller than horror to me, but regardless it's one of those films that just sticks with you in it's depiction of trauma and how vulnerable survivors of trauma can be to people who can offer an easy way to "heal" (because in reality, we know it's never that easy). Check it out if you can stand it ;)
I may have to carve out some time for it. (It's the jump scares and gore that typically get to me more anyway.) But, fascinating premise, and I can see a parallel between the invitation and the easy platitudes people tell us after a loss.
Will have to make sure I cue up some fluff to cleanse my brain afterward. :)
Okay, horror is not normally my genre but I am now so deeply curious about this film and its depiction of trauma and its aftermath.
