Synopsis:
During the apocalypse, Ariadne Sellers has two goals: avoid people and avoid starving—and she’s not picky about the order. Holed up in a crumbling library with her tarot cards, a stash of creamed corn, and three judgmental animal companions, she tries to dodge the world’s various dumpster fires while writing journal entries to her dead husband, Finn. But survival gets messier when she teams up with Demi, a half-feral herbalist with a greenhouse and a paranoia problem, because apparently “trust issues” is now a group activity. Between fending off raiders, deciphering Demi’s cryptic warnings about “them,” and debating whether SPAM qualifies as food, Ari must decide if she’s brave enough to rebuild a life—or if she’s destined to die alone, one sarcastic journal entry at a time.
